Laws Pertaining to Buying Property and Visas for Foreigners

Foreigners who want to migrate to Thailand or buy property here, is suggested to study the various laws carefully before doing so.

Immigration Visa

Bangkok, Thailand is some place a lot of people would love to migrate too. The nice climate, business opportunities and economical living have many retired people looking for Thailand retirement visa. The different Thai visa immigrations include marriage visa- if you are married to a Thai national you can apply for this visa. Thailand visa immigration also includes business visa, in the case that you need to do business in Thailand for a short time. Buying Property

As per Thai property law a foreigner cannot own land or property in Thailand. However, you can own land upto 1 rai, which is 1600 square meters. This land should be in the specified regions and also requires the foreigner to buy an additional 40 million baht investment. As per the property laws in Thailand this is to facilitate and benefit the Thai economy. When buying property in Thailand like a condominium, foreign nationals can have ownership which should be as per the foreign ownership quota. However, the rules of this for ‘aliens’ might vary.
